Colchester Sports Park celebrates fourth consecutive year of Quest accreditation

PUBLISHED: 10 November 2025

Colchester Sports Park is proud to announce that it has once again achieved a “Very Good” rating in its annual Quest assessment – marking four consecutive years of high performance in the UK’s leading quality scheme for sport and leisure.

Quest is the UK leisure sector’s leading quality assurance and continuous improvement tool, recommended by Sport England. It’s designed to help leisure centres, sports facilities, and development teams assess and improve their performance across key areas. Quest assessments typically involve a mystery visit, staff interviews, and a formal evaluation of policies, procedures, and outcomes.

The latest assessment, conducted in August 2025, highlights the Sports Park’s commitment to excellence across customer service, operational management, inclusivity, and environmental responsibility. The facility was praised for its welcoming atmosphere, outstanding cleanliness, and well-maintained amenities, with staff described as “friendly, helpful, and professional” throughout the mystery visit.

Key strengths noted in the report include:
  • An outstanding Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 90%, highlighting the centre’s exceptional customer satisfaction and loyalty. NPS is a globally recognised benchmark used to gauge how likely customers are to recommend a service to others.
  • A strong culture of staff development and innovation.
  • Successful partnerships with organisations such as Sport for Confidence and Wheels for All, enhancing accessibility and community engagement.
  • Continued investment in infrastructure, including improvements to outdoor cycle facilities funded through Section 106 grants.
The Sports Park also received commendation for its inclusive programming, with a wide range of memberships and activities catering to diverse age groups and abilities. The centre’s proactive approach to tackling inequalities and promoting wellness was recognised as a model of best practice.

“This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team,” said Cllr Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Waste, Neighbourhoods and Leisure. “To maintain such a high standard year after year reflects our commitment to providing an exceptional experience for every visitor, and to continually improving our services for the community.”

As Colchester Sports Park looks ahead, the team remains focused on addressing areas for improvement identified in the report, including expanding accessibility features and enhancing feedback mechanisms. Plans are already underway to further develop inclusive programming and environmental monitoring.
