Colchester Castle presents exclusive concert with Abbeygate Concert Band

Inspired by its new and exciting Mythical Creatures exhibition, Colchester Castle is delighted to be hosting a live music concert, Mythical Music, performed by the talented local Abbeygate Concert Band, on 20 August 2025. 

During this upcoming musical extravaganza concert, the historic walls of Colchester Castle will reverberate with the iconic sounds of film and TV music and transport the audience through time and soundscapes shaped by mythical creatures such as dragons and unicorns and local legends.  

Known for their captivating performances, the Abbeygate Concert band will bring folklore to life through iconic and recognisable compositions that spark mystery and imagination.  

Don’t miss this unforgettable experience where myth meets music — a must-see event for fans of fantasy and live music, delivering a unique and fun evening for all to enjoy. 

Doors will open at 6.30pm enabling guests to soak up the atmosphere, grab a drink from the bar and explore the fascinating Mythical Creatures exhibition before the concert begins at 7.00pm. Seating will be spread throughout the castle galleries, strategically positioned to offer an immersive musical experience like no other. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the live musical experience.
