Colchester Crematorium is pleased to announce the launch of the electronic Book of Remembrance.
This new online facility is designed to provide residents with easier access to the Book of Remembrance at any time. The 'date search' function is currently available, and the 'name search' feature will be introduced in the near future.

The Book of Remembrance serves as a memorial dedicated to loved ones. It is housed in a specially designated room to the side of the crematorium near the flower court. Each memorial inscription is beautifully hand-inscribed by a skilled calligrapher, and the Book is displayed year-round in a custom-built cabinet.
Cllr Natalie Sommers, Portfolio Holder for Communities, Heritage, and Public Protection said: “The new online Booking of Remembrance will make it easier for our community to honour and remember loved ones. It’s a small step towards ensuring these cherished memories remain accessible to everyone.”

We would also like to remind residents about the upcoming Crematorium Carol Service at Colchester Crematorium, which will take place on Wednesday, 11 December, from 2pm to 4pm. This informal and friendly event, open to all, will include poignant readings, beautiful poems, and traditional carols, while raising funds for Colchester Blanketeers.
