The Armed Forces Guaranteed Interview Scheme
Colchester City Council have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and have received our ERS Gold award, for our commitment in ensuring that ex-forces personnel are not disadvantaged as a result of their service.
Veterans can find making the transition to civilian life extremely challenging, particularly in finding and securing lasting employment. To support this, we have introduced an Armed Forces Guaranteed Interview Scheme for Veterans.
The commitment is to guarantee an interview for any eligible veterans that meet the essential criteria, as set out in the person specification, although this does not guarantee a job.

Find out if you are eligible
To be eligible for the Armed Forces Guaranteed Interview Scheme, you must:- be currently serving in the regular Armed Forces and are within 12 weeks of your discharge date or,
- your last long-term employer was the Armed Forces, and no more than 2 years has elapsed since you left
- meet the essential criteria set out in the person specification
