This September, relax and unwind at Colchester Castle with an exclusive after-hours yoga session. Join us on Friday 6 and 13 September, for a peaceful after-hours yoga class under the stunning Gaia installation.
The sessions, which start at 6pm and last one hour, will take place beneath Gaia, a breathtaking six-metre artwork that beautifully displays detailed images of the Earth. The installation features detailed NASA imagery of the Earth, offering a unique perspective on our planet's beauty and complexity. Created by artist Luke Jerram, Gaia is designed to help us connect with our planet in a new and meaningful way.
The yoga classes are open to anyone aged six and up. Doors open at 5.45pm. We ask that participants bring their own yoga mats, although some yoga mats will be available.
Tickets are priced at £9 per person and need to be booked in advance. To secure your spot, please call Colchester Castle at 01206 282939 between 10am and 4.30pm.
Cllr Natalie Sommers, Communities, Heritage and Public Protection, said: "I am delighted to see Colchester Castle hosting such a unique event. The combination of yoga and the awe-inspiring Gaia installation offers our community a chance to not only engage in physical wellbeing but also to reflect on our connection to the Earth. This event beautifully aligns with our commitment to promoting both cultural enrichment and healthy living in Colchester.”
