We are pleased to announce that Leisure World Colchester’s outdoor rapids will re-open to the public on Monday 5 August, for the remainder of the school summer holidays.
The team fully understand the disappointment caused by the closure of the flumes following a health and safety check last Friday and have made every effort to bring back the summer holiday excitement for its visitors.
The temporary re-opening will now be in place until the end of the school summer holidays. Parents and guardians can be assured that the rapids are safe to ride and have passed all the relevant health and safety assessments following work undertaken this week. More investment in the rapids will take place alongside works to the flumes in the autumn – with the aim of re-opening all the rides again in time for the October half term holidays.
The re-opening promises plenty of white-water fun this summer. Feel the exhilaration as you ride the fast-flowing water with friends, navigating the swirling currents and bends for the most exciting experience. As with all rides, there are rules in place for safety concerning the rapids, including meeting a minimum height requirement of 1.35m. As the flumes remain closed, any Leisure Pool bookings made until the 31 August will automatically receive a free Pump Track session at Colchester Sports Park, complete with free bike and helmet hire. The Pump Track enables children to build strength and speed on two wheels and, most importantly, have fun!
