Colchester Castle is thrilled to announce Cosmic Castle, an exciting day and evening event dedicated to the wonders of space. Taking place on the 19 April, visitors of all ages can immerse themselves in an unforgettable journey through the cosmos, with activities designed to spark curiosity and wonder for all ages.
Throughout the day, families can dive into the wonders of the cosmos with space-themed activities, interactive fun, and engaging talks from the Tiptree Stargazer volunteers. The museum team will host space-themed craft and games, perfect for inspiring young minds and igniting a passion for the stars. With hands-on experiences and expert insights, this daytime session is a must for budding astronauts and space enthusiasts.
Adding to the celestial experience, Luke Jerram’s awe-inspiring Mars installation will be on display and included in Castle admission. This six-meter spherical sculpture, created using detailed NASA imagery, gives visitors a stunningly detailed view of the Martian surface. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience this breathtaking fusion of art and science, alongside the Cosmic Castle activities.
As night falls, the Cosmic Castle evening event transforms Colchester Castle into a gateway to the universe. Visitors will experience a breathtaking planetarium show, transporting them through the vastness of space. Expert-led talk will deepen the understanding of the night sky, while a space-themed craft session adds a creative touch for our younger visitors.
